Keywords are probably the most important factor to establishing a successful website. When you visit your favorite search engine, their software is using Keywords to decide what websites to show you and in what order to display them on the search results. To a webmaster, profiting off of the popularity of their website through online advertising, keywords are very important indeed.
When a search engine is deciding what website to display, it is reviewing millions of sites at once, and is searching for the proper optimization of keywords to decide which pages will be listed first. Obviously the first page of results in the search engine is going to be the most visited by traffic searching for the applicable topic. There is understandably quite a large amount of competition for these spots. The only get your page to top the list is to use Keywords efficiently and correctly.
When using Keywords, generally 10-15 targeted words are chosen to base the site’s content around. These keywords should be the words that potential site visitors would use on the search engine.
Another way of generating traffic through keywords is by creating your keyword-heavy content as an article on social networking sites, including links to your website. Another way the search engine determines page ranking in the search results is by the number of “back links” a site has. Back links are links posted on other web pages that will redirect the user to your site. The more back links a site has, the more traffic it can expect.
Keywords can definitely increase the amount of traffic coming to your website or Blog if done correctly. It should be stressed that keywords can be overused within content and can be neglected by search engines if no real content is present. When used properly though, keywords can drive more traffic to your site than any other method. In the end though, Keywords are only as useful as the content they are in. Successful websites have unique and well-written content. Keywords only add onto the value of your websites content.

Better Link Building Techniques

Here are a few ways in which to enhance your link building techniques that can benefit you in numerous ways including getting more traffic and ranking higher up in the Search Engines which means higher visibility and popularity. Taking care And giving the right amount of attention to your Site and also increase its value as well and when you get linked up with other valuable and relevant sites this can work wonders for you and your site in general.
a) The Page Rank of a Page linked to your site will determine and bring value to your site, so the higher the page rank of a site hooked up with yours means that your site is becoming more valuable in turn so keep an eye out for this as it is a very important point to remember and digest.
b) Getting links from a site with a page rank of 4 that has say twenty or so outbound links is by far better for you than getting a link from a site with the same page rank of which has say 70 outbound links attached to it.
c) Try to find sites which are n the same Industry as your own site and are as closely relevant to your page/site as possible as this means that you will get more noticed by Search engines than if you just add or hook up with totally random sites as just linking to these sites can be often classed as junk linking or link farming.
d) Your Anchor texts should be made up of very relevant and important keywords. Try not to just use the site’s name for a text link but try to focus on using highly searched keywords so that you get more search engine attention. You can use your text links for outgoing links, ingoing links, navigation maps and links that appear on your main page. Try to get this right as it is so important in your link building portfolio.
e) Try to not be fooled by Webmasters that use Dynamic Link pages to link to your site as they are like parasites and they DO NOT benefit you in anyway whatsoever as these links make sure you don’t benefit at all from the Search Engine Spiders.
f) JavaScript link pages are also links that are totally ignored by search engines so you should also keep on the lookout for these types of links linking to your site as are redirected links which equally bear no benefit to your site whatsoever.
g) Framed sites are also a waste of time and search engines cannot even read them so whoever uses them is wasting your time and theirs so keep your eyes peeled for any links like this that may be latching onto your pages.

5 SEO Secrets to Get More Sales

We all wish to get targeted traffic to your sites and increase interest and sales in either our products or services and using the top Search Engine Optimization techniques can help us do just that. Here you can find these tips to improve in your sales techniques online.
1. Making sure that you have an eye catching title and description of your site/products/services is the key to receiving a good number of hits through the Search Engines. In SEO language these translate n what we call the title and meta tags so putting the right keywords into your title and description are a good start. Try to find the best combination of keywords to get the most visitors and using a keyword tool is a good idea to getting the best combination for your site.
2. Making a really eye catching headline that will keep your visitor glued to the site is very important and using something like a ‘how to’ or ‘hints and tips’ for example are usually good bait for your targeted traffic. Though you have to find a good long tail keyword that is appropriate for your site for example using a headline that acts like a question your customer might type in such as ‘how to cure arthritis’ for example might work very well.
3. Using clusters of keywords in each page for your traffic to land on is great and also links to various products or pages you want your customers to see using a text or hyper link with a specific keyword that your traffic will be keying in to view. Rather than using the name of the site it is good to use a text link with a keyword linking to the site on a page as this is very search engine friendly.
4. Using Audio and visual images and sounds on your site can really enhance the image of your site and make it much more colorful and attractive to your prospective customers as long as you use the combinations wisely and they are not too obtrusive.
5. Try to include a search box on your blog or site as this may encourage people to stay on your site for longer and if you use an analytical tool like Google Analytics for example hen you can see what kind of keywords your visitors are typing in so you can have an idea of what they are interested in and s even this will work directly or indirectly to your benefit.
From the obvious to the "Hey-I-never-thought-of-that-great-idea-before", here are 10 of the top 52 tips on how to optimize your website for its turbo-charge rocket ride up the search engine rankings.
Be bold. Use the tags around some of your keywords on each page. Do NOT use them everywhere the keyword appears. Once or twice is plenty.
Deep linking. Make sure you have links coming in to as many pages as possible. What does it tell a search engine when other web sites are linking to different pages on your site? That you obviously have lots of worthwhile content. What does it tell a search engine that all your links are coming in to the home page? That you have a shallow site of little value, or that your links were generated by automation rather than by the value of your site. Here is an example of deep linking, in this case to my personal happiness workbook.
Become a foreigner. Canada and the UK have many directories for websites of companies based in those countries. Can you get a business address in one of those countries?
Newsletters. Offer articles to ezine publishers that archive their ezines. The links stay live often for many years in their archives.
First come, first served. If you must have image links in your navigation bar, include also text links. However, make sure the text links show up first in the source code, because search engine robots will follow the first link they find to any particular page. They won't follow additional links to the same page. You can see this in action at the link to the home page on this web site monitoring page
Multiple domains. If you have several topics that could each support their own website, it might be worth having multiple domains. Why? First, search engines usually list only one page per domain for any given search, and you might warrant two. Second, directories usually accept only home pages, so you can get more directory listings this way. Why not a site dedicated to gumbo pudding pops?
Article exchanges. You've heard of link exchanges, useless as they generally are. Article exchanges are like link exchanges, only much more useful. You publish someone else's article on the history of pudding pops with a link back to their site. They publish your article on the top ten pudding pop flavors in Viet Nam, with a link back to your site. You both have content. You both get high quality links. (More on high quality links in other tips.)
Titles for links. Links can get titles, too. Not only does this help visually impaired surfers know where you are sending them, but some search engines figure this into their relevancy for a page.
Not anchor text. Don't overdo the anchor text. You don't want all your inbound links looking the same, because that looks like automation - something Google frowns upon. Use your URL sometimes, your company name other times, "Gumbo Pudding Pop" occasionally, "Get gumbo pudding pops" as well, "Gumbo-flavored pudding pops" some other times, etc.
Site map. A big site needs a site map, which should be linked to from every page on the site. This will help the search engine robots find every page with just two clicks. A small site needs a site map, too. It's called the navigation bar. See how the second navigation bar at the bottom of Last Minute Florida Villas is like a mini-site map?

Check with your hosting company first and see if they have blog software that can be activated for your account. Many hosts offer blogs along with scripts and so forth these days, pre-installed. Otherwise, I’m a big fan of WordPress. It’s free and there are a zillion plugins and themes that are SEO friendly. Download it from WordPress.org and install it.

Nice article. Though there are many SEO resources online, it seems that there are few lists such as this. I would like to mention that through the use of swfObject and swfAddress alternate content can be provided for Flash content that is search engine accessible. Smart use of XSLT can allow the same content to populate both the flash and the HTML content seen by spiders.

Thanks for the all the tips Richard. Quick question, you mentioned that if i want my site to be crawled more frequently to have other quality sites link to it… do blogs count? (for example, if at the end of this blog of mine i was to enter my website link, or when i blog on others sites, or googles blog)?
One other question, when you say that i should have a blog on my site (abcd.com), does having a link on my site to a blog site where i blog about abcd.com count?

To answer the questions from Raj, certainly links from good, quality blogs count.
And, yes, links between your site and a blog you are posting to (I’m assuming you’ve got something like a hosted blog) can count, but nothing beats having your own blog where you contribute quality content and link bait for YOUR site.

create robot.txt file , this can help the spiders to crawl , and you can specify in this file, the pages for not crawling also

“Links (especially deep links) from a high PageRank site are golden. High PR indicates high trust, so the back links will carry more weight.”
PR tells you how many links a page has, NOTHING ELSE. This means it is USELESS.
“If you have pages on your site that are very similar (you are concerned about duplicate content issues) and you want to be sure the correct one is included in the search engines, place the URL of your preferred page in your sitemaps.”
You combat duplicate content issues by ELIMINATING the other page, NOT by highlighting the preferred page.
If you really have “10 years of experience” with SEO, you are a moron.

Why don’t you tell the truth and just tell people that PR is USELESS? Go and get a high PR site by spamming a million guestbooks, maybe then you’ll get it.

There is no fucking reason why a .edu would get preferred treatment. They simply get more authority BECAUSE THEY GET LINKED TO MORE OFTEN.

Sure, get your RSS feed indexed and you’re just BEGGING for duplicate content issues.
